Amanda and Dane got married in April 2015 at The India House in New York City, NY.
We’re not lying when we say that every wedding we play is special. But there was something extra special about this one. The Metropolitan Players were just a few years old in 2015, and Erin (Co-Founder of the Met Players) and Amanda (Bride!) really hit it off. They met several times at the Caffe Bene near Times Square to talk through all of the wedding details. They went through every song request, they perfected the timeline, they confirmed the musicians, and took every opportunity to make sure each and every detail was flawless.
Fast forward to April 2015, and the wedding was just as perfect as we expected. We provided a solo pianist for their ceremony and played, “What a Wonderful World,” and “She’s Got a Way,” for the processionals, then played “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” after they were officially announced as husband and wife.
Then we had an incredible time dancing the night away to their requests which included, “Country Girl,” “September,” “Valerie,” “American Girl,” “Fancy,” and “Empire State of Mind” - a necessity for any NYC Wedding! It’s a night we’ll never forget!!
Now let’s hear from Amanda and Dane!
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
Amanda: Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Dane smile. That memory will always be crystal clear in my brain!
What was the best part about working with the Met Players?
Amanda & Dane: Too many things to list! Erin is amazing, the sweetest person and also so smart and talented. The band members are super talented also! Their voices are beautiful and they all seemed to have such a great time performing. Acoustic version of No Diggity? COME ON!!!!!! So good.
Why did you choose a band over a DJ?
Amanda & Dane: Live music really makes an event. It totally changes the feel and we wanted to give that experience to our friends and family.
What is your best wedding planning advice?
Amanda & Dane: Go with your gut, and vendors you can trust. Honesty and reliability are so important in the planning process.
Do you have any marriage advice you’d like to share?
Amanda & Dane: Take deep breaths :)
What have you been up to since your wedding? Any milestones?
Amanda & Dane: We bought and renovated a house, adopted our dog Zorro and had two baby boys, Colin and Graham!
Awww, we ABSOLUTELY had a blast performing at your wedding, and how could we not?! The whole day was downright perfect! Seeing you two light up as you walked down the aisle was definitely a memory we will never forget. Thank you for following your gut and trusting us, and congratulations on your growing family!! We’re so happy for you!
